وَذَرُوا ظَاهِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَبَاطِنَهُ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْسِبُونَ الْإِثْمَ سَيُجْزَوْنَ بِمَا كَانُوا يَقْتَرِفُونَ

Quran surah Al An'am 120 in english translation

Sahih International

(6:120) And leave what is apparent of sin and what is concealed thereof. Indeed, those who earn [blame for] sin will be recompensed for that which they used to commit.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(6:120) Leave (O mankind, all kinds of) sin, open and secret. Verily, those who commit sin will get due recompense for that which they used to commit.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(6:120) Forsake the outwardness of sin and the inwardness thereof. Lo! those who garner sin will be awarded that which they have earned.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(6:120) Eschew all sin, open or secret: those who earn sin will get due recompense for their "earnings."

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(6:120) And abandon open and secret sin; surely they who earn sin shall be recompensed with what they earned.

Dr. Ghali

(6:120) And leave behind the outward vice and the inward; surely the ones who earn vice will soon be recompensed for what they were scoring.

(6:120) Abstain from sinning, whether done in public or secret, (and the intentions and attitudes that accompany either). Indeed, those who record sins to their account will be recompensed for what they have earned.

(6:120) Refrain from sin in form and its spirit (both). Verily, those who commit sins deliberately shall be repaid according to the deeds committed by them.

Literal

(6:120) And leave (the) apparent/visible (of) the sin/crime, and its hidden/secret , that those who acquire/carry the sin/crime, they will be rewarded/reimbursed with what they were fabricating.

Ahmed Ali

(6:120) Discard both the visible and invisible sin. For those who sin will be punished for what they have done.

(6:120) Forsake the outward sin, and the inward surely the earners of sin shall be recompensed for what they have earned.

(6:120) And leave the outside of sin and the inside thereof; verily those who earn sin, anon will they be requited for that which they were wont to do.
