Quran surah Al An'am 68 in english translation

Sahih International

(6:68) And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversation. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(6:68) And when you (Muhammad SAW) see those who engage in a false conversation about Our Verses (of the Quran) by mocking at them, stay away from them till they turn to another topic. And if Shaitan (Satan) causes you to forget, then after the remembrance sit not you in the company of those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(6:68) And when thou seest those who meddle with Our revelations, withdraw from them until they meddle with another topic. And if the devil cause thee to forget, sit not, after the remembrance, with the congregation of wrong-doers.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(6:68) When thou seest men engaged in vain discourse about Our signs, turn away from them unless they turn to a different theme. If Satan ever makes thee forget, then after recollection, sit not thou in the company of those who do wrong.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(6:68) And when you see those who enter into false discourses about Our communications, withdraw from them until they enter into some other discourse, and if the Shaitan causes you to forget, then do not sit after recollection with the unjust people.

Dr. Ghali

(6:68) And when you see the ones who wade (Or: plunge; become absorbed in) into Our signs, then veer away from them until they wade (Or: plunge; become absorbed in) into (some) other discourse; and in case Ash-Shaytan (The all-vicious, i.e; the Devil) ever definitely makes you forget, then do not sit, after the Reminding, with the unjust people.

Ali Unal

(6:68) When you meet such as indulge in (blasphemous) talk about Our Revelations, turn away from them until they enter into some other discourse. And should Satan cause you to forget, no longer remain, after recollection, in the company of such wrongdoing people.

Amatul Rahman Omar

(6:68) And when you see those who engage in vain discourse about Our Messages, turn away from them, until they engage in a topic other than that. And if satan should make you forget this (advice of Ours), then sit no more, after (its) recollection, with such wrong-doers.

Literal

(6:68) And if you saw those who plunge into/engage in conversation (interpreting beyond the actual Koranic text) in Our verses/evidences, so turn away from them until they plunge into/engage in conversation in an information/speech other than it, and if the devil makes you forget, so do not sit/remain after the remembrance/reminder with the nation, the unjust/oppressive.

Ahmed Ali

(6:68) When you see them argue about Our messages, withdraw from their company until they begin to talk of other things. In case the Devil makes you forget, leave the company of these unjust people the moment you remember this.

A. J. Arberry

(6:68) When thou seest those who plunge into Our signs, turn away from them until they plunge into some other talk; or if Satan should make thee forget, do not sit, after the reminding, with the people of the evildoers.

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

(6:68) And when thou seest those who plunge in Our revelations keep away from them until they plunge in a discourse other than that; and if the Satan causeth thee to forget, then sit not thou, after the recollection, with the wrong-doing people.

Maulana Mohammad Ali

(6:68) For every prophecy is a term, and you will soon come to know (it).

Muhammad Sarwar

(6:68) When you see people mocking Our revelations, turn away from them so that they may change the subject. If Satan causes you to forget this, do not sit with the unjust people when you remember.

Hamid Abdul Aziz

(6:68) Those who fear (or avoid evil, the righteous) are not accountable for them at all, but remind them (or give them the Reminder, i.e. the teachings of the Quran) that per chance (or possibly) they may learn to fear (Allah).

Faridul Haque

(6:68) And O listener (followers of this Prophet) when you see those who argue in Our verses, turn away from them until they engage in another topic

Talal Itani

(6:68) When you encounter those who gossip about Our revelations, turn away from them, until they engage in another topic. But should Satan make you forget, do not sit after the recollection with the wicked people.

Ahmed Raza Khan

Ali Quli Qarai
