وَلَوْلَا أَنْ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْجَلَاءَ لَعَذَّبَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ عَذَابُ النَّارِ

Sahih International

(59:3) And if not that Allah had decreed for them evacuation, He would have punished them in [this] world, and for them in the Hereafter is the punishment of the Fire.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(59:3) And had it not been that Allah had decreed exile for them, He would certainly have punished them in this world, and in the Hereafter theirs shall be the torment of the Fire.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(59:3) And if Allah had not decreed migration for them, He verily would have punished them in the world, and theirs in the Hereafter is the punishment of the Fire.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(59:3) And had it not been that Allah had decreed banishment for them, He would certainly have punished them in this world: And in the Hereafter they shall (certainly) have the Punishment of the Fire.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(59:3) And had it not been that Allah had decreed for them the exile, He would certainly have punished them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have chastisement of the fire.

Literal

(59:3) Where it not for that (E) God wrote/decreed the departure/moving out on them, He would have tortured them in the present world, and for them in the end (other life is) the fire`s torture.

(59:3) Had God not decreed the expulsion for them He would have punished them in this world, and in the next the punishment of Hell would have been theirs.

(59:3) He it is Who caused those who disbelieved of the People of the Book to go forth from their homes at the first banishment. You deemed not that they would go forth, while they thought that their fortresses would defend them against Allah. But Allah came to them from place they expected not and cast terror into their hearts -- they demolished their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So take a lesson, O you who have eyes!
