ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَاقُّوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۖ وَمَنْ يُشَاقِّ اللَّهَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ

Quran surah Al Hashr 4 in english translation

Sahih International

(59:4) That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah - then indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(59:4) That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW). And whosoever opposes Allah, then verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(59:4) That is because they were opposed to Allah and His messenger; and whoso is opposed to Allah, (for him) verily Allah is stern in reprisal.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(59:4) That is because they resisted Allah and His Messenger: and if any one resists Allah, verily Allah is severe in Punishment.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(59:4) That is because they acted in opposition to Allah and His Apostle, and whoever acts in opposition to Allah, then surely Allah is severe in retributing (evil).

(59:4) That is for that they opposed (the Command of Allah and His Messenger; and whoever opposes Allah (Command), then surely Allah is strict in punishment.

(59:4) This is because they defied and opposed God and His Messenger. Whoever deifies and opposes God, then surely God is severe in retribution.

(59:4) Because they cut themselves off from Allâh and His Messenger and he who cut himself from Allâh (should bear in mind) that Allâh is severe in retribution.

(59:4) That (is) with that they defied/disobeyed God and His messenger, and who defies/disobeys God, so then God (is) strong (severe) in the punishment.
