وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنْ ذِي الْقَرْنَيْنِ ۖ قُلْ سَأَتْلُو عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْهُ ذِكْرًا

Sahih International

(18:83) And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about Dhul-Qarnayn. Say, "I will recite to you about him a report."

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(18:83) And they ask you about Dhul-Qarnain. Say: "I shall recite to you something of his story."

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(18:83) They will ask thee of Dhu'l-Qarneyn. Say: I shall recite unto you a remembrance of him.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(18:83) They ask thee concerning Zul-qarnain. Say, "I will rehearse to you something of his story."

(18:83) And they ask you about Zulqarnain. Say: I will recite to you an account of him.

(18:83) And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure belonging to them, and their father had been a righteous man. So thy Lord intended that they should attain their maturity and take out their treasure -- a mercy from thy Lord -- and I did not do it of my own accord. This is the significance of that with which thou couldst not have patience.

(18:83) (Muhammad), they will ask you about Dhu 'l-Qarnayn. Say, "I shall tell you something about him".

(18:83) And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan youths in the city, and beneath it was a treasure belonging to them both, and their father was a righteous man, and their Lord desired that they should reach maturity, and then take out their treasure as a mercy from their Lord; and I did it not on my own command. That is the interpretation of that which you could not bear."
