Quran surah Maryam 35 in english translation

Sahih International

(19:35) It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(19:35) It befits not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son [this refers to the slander of Christians against Allah, by saying that 'Iesa (Jesus) is the son of Allah]. Glorified (and Exalted be He above all that they associate with Him). When He decrees a thing, He only says to it, "Be!" and it is.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(19:35) It befitteth not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should take unto Himself a son. Glory be to Him! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(19:35) It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, "Be", and it is.

Dr. Ghali

(19:35) In no way is it for Allah to take to Him a child. All Extolment be to Him! When He decrees a Command, then He only says to it, "Be!" and it is.

Ali Unal

(19:35) It is not for God to take to Himself a child. All-Glorified is He (in that He is absolutely above doing such things). When He decrees a thing, He does but say to it "Be!" and it is.

Amatul Rahman Omar

(19:35) It does not behove (the Majesty of) Allâh to take to Himself a son. Holy is He. When He decrees a matter He only commands it `Be´ and it comes to be.

Ahmed Ali

Hamid Abdul Aziz

(19:35) Such was Jesus, the son of Mary. This is the statement of truth concerning which they doubt (or dispute).

Faridul Haque
