وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ

Sahih International

(20:116) And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except Iblees; he refused.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(20:116) And (remember) when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves to Adam." They prostrated (all) except Iblis (Satan), who refused.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(20:116) And when We said unto the angels: Fall prostrate before Adam, they fell prostrate (all) save Iblis; he refused.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(20:116) When We said to the angels, "Prostrate yourselves to Adam", they prostrated themselves, but not Iblis: he refused.
