وَإِنْ يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُسْتَمِرٌّ

Sahih International

(54:2) And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic."

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(54:2) And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic."

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(54:2) And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(54:2) But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic."

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(54:2) And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic.

(54:2) And in case they see a sign, they veer away and say, "A continuous sorcery!"
