Sahih International

(53:43) And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(53:43) And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep;
