Sahih International

(37:56) He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(37:56) He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(37:56) He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin,

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(37:56) He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition!

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(37:56) He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish;

Dr. Ghali

(37:56) He says, "By Allah, (The Arabic is ta-llahi; which a stronger oath than the more usual wa-llahi) decidedly you were almost about to topple me down indeed.
