فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَامٍ عَلِيمٍ

Sahih International

(51:28) And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(51:28) Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism).

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(51:28) Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(51:28) (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(51:28) So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge.
