ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ اسْتَحَبُّوا الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الْآخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ

Quran surah An Nahl 107 in english translation

Sahih International

(16:107) That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(16:107) That is because they loved and preferred the life of this world over that of the Hereafter. And Allah guides not the people who disbelieve.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(16:107) That is because they have chosen the life of the world rather than the Hereafter, and because Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(16:107) This because they love the life of this world better than the Hereafter: and Allah will not guide those who reject Faith.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(16:107) This is because they love this world's life more than the hereafter, and because Allah does not guide the unbelieving people.

Dr. Ghali

(16:107) That (is) for that they have shown more love for the present life (Literally: the lowly life, i.e; the life of this world) than for the Hereafter and (for) that Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.

(16:107) That is because they have chosen the present, worldly life in preference to the Hereafter, and because God does not guide the people of unbelief (to the way of true prosperity and Paradise).
