قَالُوا مَا أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُنَا وَمَا أَنْزَلَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ

Quran surah Ya Sin 15 in english translation

Sahih International

(36:15) They said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies."

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(36:15) They (people of the town) said: "You are only human beings like ourselves, and the Most Beneficent (Allah) has revealed nothing, you are only telling lies."

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(36:15) They said: Ye are but mortals like unto us. The Beneficent hath naught revealed. Ye do but lie!

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(36:15) The (people) said: "Ye are only men like ourselves; and (Allah) Most Gracious sends no sort of revelation: ye do nothing but lie."

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(36:15) They said: You are naught but mortals like ourselves, nor has the Beneficent Allah revealed anything; you only lie.

(36:15) They said, "In no way are you anything except mortals like us; and in no way has The All-Merciful sent down anything; decidedly you do nothing except lie."

(36:15) They (- the contemporaries of the Messengers) gave (a general) reply, `You are only human beings like ourselves. The Most Gracious (God) has revealed nothing (to you). You are simply telling lies.´

(36:15) They said: "You are not except humans equal/alike to us , and the merciful did not descend from a thing, that truly you are except lying/denying/falsifying."
