قَالُوا بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَاءَنَا نَذِيرٌ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ كَبِيرٍ

Sahih International

(67:9) They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'"

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(67:9) They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'"

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(67:9) They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(67:9) They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'"

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(67:9) They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error.

Dr. Ghali

(67:9) They say, "Yes indeed, a Warner has already come to us; yet we cried lies and said, ?In no way has Allah been sending down anything whatever; decidedly you are in (nothing) except a great error. "'

(67:9) They will say: "Yes, indeed, a warner came to us but we denied (him) and said (to him): "God has never sent down anything, you are only in a great error."

(67:9) They will say, `No doubt, a Warner did come to (warn) us but we cried lies (to him) and we said, "Allâh has revealed nothing, you are only in great error".´

Literal

(67:9) They said: "Yes/certainly, a warner/giver of notice had come to us, so we lied/denied/falsified, and we said: `God did not descend from a thing, that truly you are except in big/great misguidance.`"

(67:9) And they will answer: "Surely; a warner came to us, but we denied him, and said: 'God did not send down any thing; you are greatly deluded, in fact.'"

(67:9) They will say, ‘Yes, a warner did come to us, but we impugned [him] and said, ‘Allah did not send down anything; you are only in great error.’

Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish

(67:9) Yes, indeed' they will reply, 'but we belied the Warner (Messenger) saying: 'Allah has not sent down anything, you are but in great error'
